Fire Sale at The Whitney.

Whitneyauction_1

As pointed out in Monday's links, The Whitney Hotel is going condo. Part and parcel to hotel conversions are fire-sales in which everything (nailed down or otherwise) is sold and stripped from the hotel.  As expected, The Whitney's heirlooms are hitting the on-line auction block (date TBD) with the Soderholm Commission Company.

"92 Complete Rooms of Expensive Furniture, Bar, Restaurant, Laundry, Service, Maintenance Equipment, Restaurant Furniture, Bars, Back Bars, ALL Fire Doors, ALL Woodwork (Including 15" Crown Moulding throughout), Office Equipment, Key Equipment & MORE!"

Though they have yet to upload of photos of individual items, and there is no word on whether or not one can actually go there to view the goods (which is half the fun) it looks like everything is going.
